Placer SPCA
150 Corporation Yard Road, Roseville, CA 95678 - (916) 782-SPCA (7722)

The Placer SPCA works with Car Program LLC to handle vehicle donations. After you submitt the Pick Up Request form to the Placer SPCA, Car Program LLC will proceed to try and find a buyer for your car (more than 90% success rate of finding a buyer).

Car Program LLC will then contact you within the week to arrange pick up of your car and to give you the proper paperwork needed for your taxes. If they are unable to sell your car, they will contact you and let you know they are unable to accept the donation. Once sold, Car Program LLC sends the profit made on the sale of your car to the Placer SPCA.

Thank you for considering us for your vehicle donation!

FAQ's

1. What can I donate?

A: We accept most vehicles and vessels including but not limited to cars, trucks, Harley Davidson motorcycles (only), horse and travel trailers, boats and RV's. Sorry, no motorcycles, incomplete vehicles, car bodies or totaled vehicles.

2. Is my donation tax deductible?

A: Yes. Placer County SPCA is classified with the IRS as non-profit charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Individual tax situations vary so please check with a tax professional to determine what if any tax benefit you may receive.

3. What do I need to donate my vehicle?

A: We would like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made.

4. My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?

A: Yes, we are able to accept most vehicles running or not (exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing). To find out if we can accept your vehicle, please complete and submit our online donation form.

6. How is the value of my car determined?

A: New rule for donating vehicles became effective January 2005. If the claimed value of the vehicle exceeds $500 and the item is sold by the charitable organization, the taxpayer is limited to the gross sale. It does not affect donors claiming $500 or less and for those donors who are not claiming a tax deduction. The Car Program LLC will mail a postcard to each donor whose gift generates a gross sale in excess of $500.. The Kelly Blue Book web site will be helpful in determining the value of your vehicle.

7. How will the car be picked up?

A: Our partner, Car Program LLC, will arrange to have your vehicle towed away by a professionally licensed, bonded and insured towing company

8. How long will it take to pick up my car?

A: You will at least be contacted by Car Program LLC within three or four business days at the most. If you need your car picked up sooner, please let us know as we may be able to make those arrangements as well.

9. How can I contact you to schedule a pick up?

A: Please complete and submit our online donation form or call us at 916-782-7722 x 106 Mo- Fri, 9-5pm.
