How
do I become a Volunteer?
First, click here to review the list of
volunteer opportunities we have available.
If you see one or more that you are
interested in pursuing, please contact our
volunteer department to sign up for an
upcoming volunteer orientation class.
Volunteer orientations are usually scheduled
the first Saturday of the month. You can
review upcoming class dates by accessing our
events calendar. Attendance at the
Volunteer Orientation is a pre-requisite for
all other training classes.
The orientation includes a
presentation about the
history of the Placer
SPCA;
our Mission, Vision
and Philosophy;
animal success stories,
an outline of the many ways that caring
volunteers can make a difference in the
lives of homeless animals; and will conclude
with a
tour of the entire
facility.
After the presentation, if you have decided
that the Placer SPCA is the right volunteer
fit for you, you will be invited to complete
a volunteer application. A $25 materials
fee will be collected at this time, which
will cover the cost of a t-shirt, name badge
and all training materials needed for your
volunteer service. (Please bring cash or
check). This materials fee enables us to
continue our volunteer program without
taking any money away from the support and
care of the shelter animals. Please feel
free to contact us if you have any
questions.
If you would like to attend one of the
upcoming volunteer orientations, please
e-mail
volunteer@placerspca.org or call (916)
782-7722 x. 104. Please RSVP for the
orientation you wish to attend, leaving your
name and telephone number. If the class
you have selected is full, you will be
contacted and offered an alternate
orientation date, if one is currently
available.
