Microchips
Microchip your dog or cat for only $20 at a Rabies Vaccination Clinic or during any business hours. No appointment is required. Please have your dogs on leash and cats in carriers.
The Placer SPCA recommends having your dog or cat microchipped, even if they typically remain indoors. During a move, a trip, or during times of unusual activity in your home your pet may be more likely to dash outside and become disoriented. When your pet has a microchip implanted under the skin, an animal shelter or veterinary clinic can obtain your contact information by scanning the chip and requesting the information from the manufacturer.
If your pet already has a microchip, be sure to keep your information current with the manufacturer when you move or change phone numbers. Placer SPCA will scan your pet for free to determine if they already have a microchip.
