The dogs listed below are
currently available for adoption.
If you are interested in adopting one of these dogs,
please visit the Placer SPCA in person.
There is nothing like 15 to 30 minutes spent
with one of the dogs to help you get to know
his or her individual personality, and our staff and volunteer adoption counselors can give you additional information and advice.
When you are ready to adopt, please review our Adoption Process.
For questions about a specific dog, call us at

Looking for a specific breed? Complete a Matchmaker/Companion Request Form. Did you know an average of 25% of all dogs in animal shelters are purebreeds? We get all breeds and sizes - with patience, you are sure to find the perfect dog for you! Take a look at the animals who have been adopted in the last week.
What does it mean when a dog’s description says he or she “prefers to be the only pet?” Before each dog is made available for adoption, he or she receives a detailed behavior assessment by our expert staff. For the safety of the dogs and their new families, we make recommendations based on the animal’s observed behavior. If you currently have a dog in your home that you feel may be compatible with a dog you are considering adopting, even if that dog is recommended as an only pet, you may request a supervised dog-to-dog introduction to see if they could successfully live together.
