The mission of the Placer SPCA is to enhance the lives of companion animals and strengthen the human-animal bond.

Do you know a person, organization, business, or animal in Placer County that has gone above and beyond to contribute to that mission?

Nominate them for a Hero Award, to be presented at Funny Bones 2012!

Examples of past Hero Award recipients include:

• A hospital program that brings animals to visit patients
• A therapy dog whose owner brings him for weekly visits to nursing homes
• Workers who rescued a dog who had fallen in a reservoir
• Volunteers who care for a colony of feral cats
• Middle school boys who helped rescue a cat trapped in a storage drain.
• A companion dog to an autistic teen
• Elementary school children who made an extraordinary effort to collect donations for the animals of the Placer SPCA
