Our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP)
provides financial assistance and advice to Placer
County pet owners who need help altering their animals. The program is
funded by the generosity of donors and
through foundations and other grantors who
share our goal of bringing an end to pet
overpopulation. Click here to donate

How to utilize this program? Please click a link below for details about the SNAP service you need. Your next step will be to request a SNAP voucher, either by calling the SNAP hotline or by completing the online voucher application. You will receive your voucher by mail with instructions for making an appointment with a participating veterinary clinic.

The Placer SPCA would like to thank the veterinary clinics that participate in the SNAP program. These clinics support the efforts of the Placer SPCA by accepting reduced fees for spaying and neutering for clients using a SNAP voucher. View a list of participating clinics.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to high demand and budget constraints, until further notice SNAP vouchers will only be issued for cats, rabbits, and dogs that are pitbull or pitbull mixes. For other low-cost spay and neuter services, visit www.neuterspay.org.
We Pay to Spay
Placer County Residents: Spay/Neuter Your Pitbull or Pitbull Mix and Placer SPCA will pay for it!
Call SNAP at (916) 782-7722 x. 201 or (530) 885-7387 x. 201 to request your voucher, or complete an online Voucher Application in PDF. You will receive your voucher by mail with instructions for making an appointment at a participating veterinary clinic to spay or neuter your pitbull or pitbull mix.
- Be sure to specify that your dog is a pitbull or pitbull mix when you request your voucher.
- Through the SNAP Pay to Pay program, the spay or neuter surgery is at no cost to you.
- Additional services, such as vaccinations and other medical treatment, will be at your expense.
- You must receive your voucher prior to making an appointment at a veterinary clinic.
- We Pay to Spay will continue while funds are available.

If you live in the city limits of Roseville, have your cat spayed or neutered for FREE through SNAP!
Call SNAP at (916) 782-7722 x. 201 or (530) 885-7387 x. 201 to request your voucher, or complete an online Voucher Application in PDF.
- By providing your Roseville address with your voucher request, the spay or neuter surgery is at no cost to you. Your voucher will need to be mailed to a valid Roseville address.
- You will receive an endorsed SNAP voucher by mail with instructions for making an appointment at a participating veterinary clinic.
- Please request separate vouchers for multiple cats.
- You are encouraged to have your own cats and free-roaming cats altered through this program.
- Additional services, such as vaccinations and other medical treatment, will be at your expense.
- You must receive your voucher prior to making an appointment at a veterinary clinic.
- Free cat spay and neuter for Roseville residents will continue while funds are available.

Call SNAP at (916) 782-7722 x. 201 or (530) 885-7387 x. 201 to request your voucher, or complete an online Voucher Application in PDF. You will receive your voucher by mail with instructions for making an appointment at a participating veterinary clinic.
Placer SPCA will subsidize 50% of the cost. Your share of the cost to spay or neuter:
- Female cat, not in heat or pregnant: $30
- Female cat, in heat or pregnant: $35
- Male cat: $20 (An additional charge may apply if a male cat is Cryptorchid (retained testicles).)
- Pricing to spay or neuter your rabbit are the same as above.
- Additional services, such as vaccinations and other medical treatment, will be at an additional charge.
- You must receive your voucher prior to making an appointment at a veterinary clinic.
- Pricing structure is subject to change.
