Surrendering an Animal
The Placer SPCA takes in over 4,000 animals
each year. Though we attempt to accommodate
everyone from Placer County, we do not
always have space for every animal. If you
are outside the city limits of Roseville you
must call before bringing your animal to our
shelter to make sure we have space
available. We do not accept animals from
outside Placer County. Please refer to
your local city/county animal shelter or
humane society if you are outside of Placer
County for assistance.
In order to find the best new home for your
animal, we ask that you print out and
complete the appropriate form below
and bring it with you when you surrender
your companion animal.
The form is lengthy, but it is imperative
that we have as much information about your
companion as you can provide. This ensures
that we can make the best match and provide
accurate information to the animal’s new
owner. If you are unable to print the
form below ahead of time, please be prepared
to fill it out upon your arrival at the
Placer SPCA.
We thank you for your cooperation
in this process.
Residents outside of Placer County,
please call for additional information.
Please call us at (916) 782-7722 during
shelter hours for assistance.
Please note: Animals surrendered to the
Placer SPCA will be held for a period of
four days at which time they will undergo
health and behavior assessment. In the case
your animal is not able to be placed up for
adoption, we can notify you prior to any
action taken.
