An organization like
the Placer SPCA is only as good as our
volunteers - and our volunteers are the
best!
With the dedicated assistance of our
volunteers, the Placer SPCA is able to
maintain high quality care of the animals
and continue its life saving work through
innovative programs and services to the
community. If you love animals and would like to
make a difference in their lives, we would
love for you to join our team of dedicated
volunteers.

What motivated you to volunteer at the Placer SPCA?
I’ve always been a dog enthusiast. The PSPCA appealed to me because of their dedication to improving each pet’s social behavior and ultimately its placement in a suitable home.
What do you like best about volunteering?
While I always enjoy being in the presence of dogs and dog enthusiasts, the BEST part is seeing how much progress the dogs make with the help and nurturing of all the great volunteers, fosters, and PSPCA staff. Oh yah, and when the dogs head off to their new forever home, that’s truly the best.
What do you like best about the Placer SPCA?
I enjoy the PSPCA’s tremendous effort and commitment to assist in the placement of animals. Through some pretty amazing challenges, the staff and volunteers work to improve the health, socialization, and training of each pet to prepare them for their new families. Their hard work provides these beautiful creatures with a well-deserved second chance.
How many animals do you have at home?
We adopted Redbone, now nine, as a three-year-old from an Australian cattle dog rescue. Initially he was extremely mistrustful and would hide under the furniture. After a lot of patience, socialization, and training he sticks to me like Velcro, shows off with stupid pet tricks, enjoys car rides, long walks, playing Frisbee, and is working toward his Canine Good Citizen certification.
All of our volunteers are special! Once a month, an active volunteer is randomly selected to feature on this page. It could be you! Sign up for a Volunteer Orientation and join our team. |
